Over the holiday last weekend I FINALLY deboxed my Iplehouse Narcatana Circus LE Jessica Pierrot:

She is so amazingly lovely she has become my new photography muse:

Jessica is one of the larger BJD dolls.  She is an Iplehouse EID standing 65cm tall.  I wasn't sure whether her height would be too much, but she was so striking in her pictures, I decided to order her and see.  Her size is actually very reasonable it also makes her easy to handle and pose. Her joints and internal stringing are very sold and move and hold poses really well. I love how she can stand freely on her own.  Here she is posing next to our kitty Little One :).

Her skin tone is really remarkable. She has the newer UV protectant resin which looks amazing in natural lighting. I also love the natural elegance of her faceup which allows her great versatility with differnt wigs.

I love the blonde synthetic wig she came with and it is really well made, but I also loved this burgandy wine Soom wig which became one my favorites on her even though the wig is a size too big.  Now I want to find a size 8 wig of the same color for her.

Once I am able to save up some more doll funds, I am planning to order some darker eyes, more wigs and some non-fantasy style fashions for her.

We lost my amazing mother to ovarian cancer in 2001.  My mom and I started collecting dolls together and she also inspired my passion for vintage fasion and photography.  So, of course, having experienced it first-hand, I support all cancer-related causes.  Deborah Lippman creates some of the most beautiful nail polish colors and this month she is supporting breast cancer research with her lastest nail polish color "Shape of My Heart"

Shape of My Heart

So, this is a another opportunity to support something important while also doing something beautiful for yourself, which my mom would approve of :).

Deborah is telling her very personal battle with weight loss through Shape magazine.

Hilda's package containing the new outfits she had created for me arrived at the very end of last week to my very happy surprise!  The fashions arrived in lovely little packets and looked beautiful!

On Saturday I spent the afternoon carefully redressing the Fashion Royalty and Nu Face gals I had chosen to redress in more classy, vintage fashions instead of the more modern styles they came in.
I love, love, LOVE these new Belissima Couture outfits.  And so do their new owners.

Blue Blooded Jolie showing off her new Swing Coat ensemble
(the silver, black and violet colors perfectly match Jolie's makeup!)

Gisele in her fabulous Peggy dress

I spent a little time trying to create a little Mad Men-esque style setting so I could take a goup shot of all the gals together.  I added Ms. Power Game Natalia (always wanting to be the center of attention) who felt the need to show off her new 50's style Dressmaker Details frock as well...

Thank you so much, Hilda!  Each dress fits the intended owner perfectly and are exactly what my girls needed!! I am already preparing to sell their original outfits because I am so thrilled and want to be able to order more from you soon, haha!!

So, if any of you interested in Hilda's fashions, I very highly recommend ordering from her Bellissima Couture website. Your doll guys and gals will thank you!

Wow, what a whirlwind weekend...  It was spent with two wonderful evenings out with my honey, Matt, and several new doll deliveries (my new Bellissima*Couture, Forget Me Not Poppy Parker, BIC Trendy Triumph...) and thus lots of photo taking. So, I was especially thankful to have had Monday off!!

The weekend started with a wonderful Valentine's dinner on Saturday evening.  I had recently found a wonderful modern interpretation of a Mad Men style wiggle dress by Eva Franco at my favorite neighborhood boutique, Weekendz Only which, along with Hilda's Bellissima*Couture doll fashions, inspired me to dress up Joan Holliway style.

The fabric of dress does not translate very well in night pictures. It is a really pretty midnight blue with black shiny squares and a thin belt at the waist.  I added a little vintage broach just below the right shoulder. I had really wanted to do a proper vintage up-do with my hair, but just didn't have the time. Next time I will have to try one of the great vintage hair stylists in town.

Matt took me to dinner at Morton's Steakhouse which was a belated Christmas treat from his sister, Melissa, who recently became a lawyer at a firm in downtown LA and wanted to treat us.  We hadn't been able to afford to go out to a nice restaurant in soooo long, it was definitely a lovely treat.  We started with martinis in the old school dark cherry wood bar before dinner:

For dinner, we both ordered our favorite, the Filet with garlic mashed pototates.  Matt also had his other favorite, Morton's famous Wedge salad which is almost too pretty for a salad and coated with blue cheese, egg and bacon bits... Well, so much for our Spring pledge to start eating more healthy...haha!

It really was a wonderful Mad Men-esque evening.  So, our sincerest thanks to Melissa for making this special night possible.

Next I will be posting all the doll photos I took which is how I pretty much how I spent the rest of my weekend (Matt's true Valentine's present to me...leaving me alone to take pictures of my gals all day for two whole days.  Just one reason why I love you so much honey, xoxo!).

Hilda of Bellissima*Couture recently introduced an absolutely gorgeous new Mad Men Joan dress for order on her site:

Hilda continues to innovate and make fabulous new fashions for our ladies.  And stay tuned...  She is now threatening to make fashions for the voluptuous Tonner gals Deanna Denton and Peggy Harcourt.  Yes, please, Hilda!! :)
