I finished watching the Golden Globes a little while ago. Ricky Gervais was hilarious and is definitely my favorite award show host yet.

Paul McCartney's comment about animation not just being for children by also "for adults that take drugs" was hilarious, finally seeing Michael C. Hall win for Best Actor in a Drama was awesome, watching Martin Scorsese win the Cecil B. Demile award was amazing and Robert Downey Jr. gave my favorite acceptance speech.

I agreed with most of the winners (I was especially happily surprised to see THE HANGOVER win Best Comedy) with the exception of AVATAR winning Best Director and Best Picture. The film is a phenominal technical achievement will change the future of entertainment (and I can't recommend enough seeing it in 3D), but the story was pretty cliche' and HURT LOCKER was a much better film (go Kathryn Bigelow)

The standout for me was Kate Hudson in this unbelievable white Marchesa Gown with matching Casadei platform pumps:

The finely tailored white folds and super feminine white feather shelf bust are devine. She looks like a modern grecian goddess and is hands-down the absolute Best Dressed for me.

Even though I was not a huge fan of the dress, the colors and makeup of this ensemble on Zoe Saldana was quite striking:

I must admit, I was sorely disappointed in the dresses of my 3 fave mad men ladies. I thought Elizabeth Moss and January Jones were particularly badly dressed. Jan Jones in all black was so harsh and El Moss looked washed out. I had hoped they would stay in character and give us some fabulous retro vibe, but it was not to be.

I totally agree... It appears our favorite Mad Men ladies forgot to consult their amazing wardrobe stylists for this red carpet event. Even Christina Hendricks looked washed out and not her amazing amazonian self in her frilly flesh-toned peach evening gown. It seemed like January Jones was trying for a classic black Audrey Hepburn-style, but the gown and headband were too overstated and lacked the "less is more" tailoring.
